Tell us about Betsoft’s latest slot Monster Pop.
‘Monster Pop is Betsoft’s latest slot release and has been designed as a continuation of our extremely well received “POP series” which to date also includes Chilli Pop, Sugar Pop and Sugar Pop 2.
It’s a cascading video slot with cluster pays and many dynamic features. Monster Pop is essentially an easy game to understand but we wanted to make it challenging for players at the same time. Therefore, we added in some seriously special extras: intensely colourful animations and a great soundtrack, plus clever and exciting mechanics to engage players and create true interaction.’
Can you tell us more about these mechanics in Monster Pop?
‘We believe that its most exciting mechanic is the expanding grid. There are both special splitter symbols that expand the grid and wilds on the reels which take the grid up to a monster 13×13. This is a spectacular mechanic when you start out from the regular 5×5. It adds dramatically to the pay lines and creates a lot of excitement from a player perspective as you wait and watch the grid grow along with your win potential. Betsoft has true skill in creating themes that resonate with the widest possible player base. We build mechanics and features with universal appeal and Monster Pop is no exception. Based on your research, are you seeing any games or types of game that are growing in popularity to date?
‘That’s a very interesting question. Currently we are seeing a new trend whereby players have started to favour games that are less complex. There was a period when gaming companies were trying to put in as many features as possible, which lead to bloating. Our experience is that players enjoy solid mathematics, one or two exciting features and a smooth playing experience. If you can deliver on the fundamentals, your games are going to have longevity and enjoy success.’
What do you think will impress players most about Monster Pop?
‘We employ some of the most well-known animators in the industry. Once again they have produced truly stunning visuals for this release. Monster Pop has real style: eye-popping monsters and flaming sphere animations are set against a dark blue scene to really make the images stand out. It’s visually great fun and the soundtrack reinforces this. We are very effective in ensuring the music and visuals complement each other and add to the player experience. A perfect balance is key to a successful game. Rapid, gratifying gameplay and an audio-visual excellence more typical of movies and console games are Betsoft hallmarks.
